For Museum District resident Jennyfer Herrington and her spouse and children, it is been a crushing number of days.
Several hours immediately after Herrington’s daughter was associated in a strike-and-run crash, the pair stepped exterior to find a cylindrical concrete block had smashed the windshield of the daughter’s rental auto.
“It can be been a hell of a week,” Herrington mentioned. “I’m unsatisfied about it, to say the least. We are already having to pay out for the hit and run, and now the rental vehicle will get wrecked and will become undriveable.”
The mysterious incident, which prompted a stir on social media, transpired midday Wednesday close to Herrington’s townhome at the corner of La Branch and Rosewood.
Herrington claimed her daughter parked the car or truck all over 10 a.m., only to explore the destruction a couple hours later on.
“It just would seem definitely strange,” Herrington claimed. “Absolutely, somebody’s not just strolling about, offended, completely ready to throw a concrete block at a vehicle.”
Herrington’s spouse posted a photo of the ruined windshield to Reddit early Thursday early morning, but observed handful of responses.
Some speculated the block fell off a design automobile. Even if which is the case, it leaves unanswered thoughts about the angle the block hit the windshield at and who could be liable.
“It truly is not even that my daughter has any enemies, but it is a rental automobile,” Herrington reported. “Nobody would know it can be not our own vehicle or just about anything.”
Herrington suggests she’s asked law enforcement to look at safety digicam footage about the place in hopes of identifying what transpired. As of Thursday afternoon, a official police report has not been done.
