Mitchell BLET student dies in automobile crash; family establishes scholarship in his honor | Local News

A cadet in the Mitchell Neighborhood College Basic Regulation Enforcement Teaching method died Sunday in an car crash and now his family is honoring his legacy.

Gavin Doyle Cox, 22, of Huntersville, will be remembered as his loved ones decided to companion with Mitchell Community College or university to create the Gavin Cox BLET Scholarship.

Cox was a graduate of East Carolina University, majoring in felony justice and had attended center and high college at Pine Lake Preparatory in Mooresville. He was at this time enrolled in Standard Legislation Enforcement Teaching (BLET) at Mitchell Neighborhood Faculty and was searching ahead to a profession in legislation enforcement. He aspired to give again to the community and sort amazing bonds with his fellow officers and the citizens he served.

Cox left an eternal effect on any one he met. He will forever be remembered for his smile, his larger sized-than-everyday living personality and his infectious electricity. He is also recognized for staying a really hard-doing work person and at times juggling three employment at a time. He was an early entrepreneur, starting up his very own lawn company with his brothers when he was 10.

Gavin’s family members has proven the scholarship with the intent to assist students pursuing a career in law enforcement. This scholarship will ensure Gavin’s legacy lives on as the Gavin Cox BLET Scholarship and will affect generations of college students.
